Amateur horror theater group, 8 intimidating looking men and public

Latex is a 2 channel video installation for which Okón works with an amateur horror theater group from Mexico City. Inspired in the fear campaign which lead to the 2012 presidential elections in Mexico, the piece focuses in the spectacularization of violence as a political tool. The video-installation results from a performance for which Okón uses a theater play as bait in order to infiltrate a group of intimidating looking men among the public. Towards the end, the two performances come together revealing the identity of the infiltrators and allowing the public to think back at their reactions.
